Get to know Jenny! To know her is to love her!
A singer, songwriter, and ukulele player, Jenny teaches ukulele to beginners and advanced beginners, online and in-person in New York City. She also co-founded and leads regular jams and workshops with the NYC Uke Squad. Jenny is a midwestern transplant to North Brooklyn, where she has lived since 2003, and where she plays the ukulele absolutely as much as she can. She has taught students of all ages, including via an NYC public school afterschool program in the East Village, and shared ukulele story times at the Brooklyn Public Library (Leonard Branch).
In her spare time you can find Jenny teaching and helping new parents as a postpartum doula and educator. Her approach to teaching is similar no matter the topic -- she believes in meeting students where they are, without any outside agenda, and sharing tools so that they can reach their own personal goals. With younger students, one main goal is usually to keep things fun! Jenny can also be found on the Community Management team of YouTube ukulele star Cynthia Lin, where she helps manage projects like 100 Days of Ukulele. Find her on Instagram as @newukenewyork or see her 700+ covers and arrangements on YouTube!
